General terms and conditions

Welcome to Domaine le Landeau. We look forward to hosting you. These general terms and conditions are designed to ensure a clear and pleasant experience for all our guests. They outline the mutual understanding and responsibilities for your reservation and stay at our gîte in Virazeil, France. By proceeding with a reservation, you acknowledge and accept these terms.

General Terms and Conditions – Gîte Rental

1. Scope

These general terms and conditions apply to all reservations, stays, and agreements relating to the gîte located in Virazeil, France.

By making a reservation, the guest acknowledges having read and accepted these terms and conditions without reservation.

These conditions apply to all guests staying at the property.

 


 

2. Description of the Property

The gîte is a holiday accommodation located on private property and is rented exclusively for temporary tourist stays.

The owner makes every effort to ensure that descriptions, photographs, and information are accurate. Minor differences in decoration, furnishings, or facilities do not entitle guests to compensation.

 


 

3. Reservations and Rental Agreement

A reservation becomes final after:

  • written or electronic confirmation by the owner;
  • receipt of the agreed deposit.

The person making the reservation must be at least 18 years old and will be considered the main guest responsible for:

  • all payments;
  • the behavior of all occupants;
  • compliance with these terms and conditions.

The owner reserves the right to refuse a reservation without explanation.

 


 

4. Payment

Deposit

A deposit of 30% of the total rental amount must be paid within 7 days of booking.

Balance Payment

The remaining balance must be paid no later than 30 days before arrival.

For bookings made less than 30 days before arrival, full payment is required immediately.

Late or Non-Payment

If payments are not received on time, the owner reserves the right to:

  • cancel the reservation;
  • offer the accommodation to other guests;
  • retain amounts already paid in accordance with the cancellation policy.

Any bank or transaction fees are the responsibility of the guest.

 


 

5. Security Deposit

The owner may request a security deposit before or upon arrival.

The deposit serves as security for:

  • damage to buildings, furniture, or equipment;
  • loss of keys;
  • excessive cleaning;
  • breach of house rules.

The deposit will be refunded within a reasonable period after departure, subject to inspection of the property.

If damages exceed the amount of the security deposit, the guest remains fully liable for the additional costs.

 


 

6. Cancellation Policy

Cancellation by the Guest

The following cancellation conditions apply:

  • Up to 60 days before arrival: refund of payments made minus administration costs.
  • Between 60 and 30 days before arrival: 50% of the total booking amount remains due.
  • Less than 30 days before arrival: 100% of the booking amount remains due.
  • No refund will be granted in the event of early departure.

Guests are strongly advised to take out travel and cancellation insurance.

Cancellation by the Owner

If, due to force majeure, technical problems, damage, weather conditions, or exceptional circumstances, the owner is unable to provide the accommodation, all amounts paid will be refunded.

The owner shall not be liable for any additional compensation, hotel expenses, travel costs, or other damages.

 


 

7. Arrival and Departure

Check-in

Check-in is possible from 4:00 PM unless otherwise agreed.

Check-out

Check-out must take place no later than 10:00 AM.

Late departure may result in additional charges.

Before departure, guests are expected to:

  • leave the accommodation reasonably tidy;
  • dispose of rubbish appropriately;
  • return furniture and equipment to their original place;
  • close windows and lock doors.

 


 

8. Use of the Property

The gîte may only be used for holiday and recreational purposes.

The maximum number of guests specified at the time of booking may not be exceeded without prior approval from the owner.

The following are prohibited unless expressly authorized:

  • parties or events;
  • excessive noise or disturbance;
  • illegal or dangerous activities;
  • smoking inside the buildings.

Guests agree to use the accommodation respectfully and responsibly.

Any damage occurring during the stay must be reported immediately.

 


 

9. Pets

Pets are only allowed with prior approval from the owner.

If pets are accepted:

  • they must not cause damage or disturbance;
  • owners must clean up after them;
  • pets may not be left unattended if this may disturb neighbors or damage the property.

Any damage or additional cleaning costs caused by pets will be charged to the guest.

 


 

10. Swimming Pool, Garden and Grounds

Where applicable, use of the swimming pool, garden, outbuildings, and all other facilities is entirely at the guests’ own risk.

Children must remain under constant adult supervision.

The owner cannot be held liable for:

  • accidents;
  • injuries;
  • falls;
  • loss or damage to personal belongings.

All facilities must be used responsibly and with respect for safety and maintenance.

 


 

11. Internet and Technical Facilities

Where Wi-Fi or technical facilities are provided, these are offered as an additional service.

The owner does not guarantee uninterrupted operation of:

  • internet access;
  • television;
  • electricity;
  • water supply;
  • heating;
  • air conditioning.

Temporary interruptions do not entitle guests to refunds or compensation.

 


 

12. Cleaning

The accommodation is provided clean upon arrival.

Guests are expected to maintain the property in a clean and orderly condition during their stay.

Before departure:

  • dishes should be washed;
  • rubbish removed;
  • the property left in normal condition.

If exceptional cleaning is required, the owner reserves the right to charge additional fees.

 


 

13. Liability

The owner shall not be held liable for:

  • loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings;
  • accidents occurring on the property;
  • temporary defects or interruptions in services;
  • force majeure events such as storms, fire, natural disasters, strikes, or government restrictions.

Guests remain fully responsible for damage caused by themselves, accompanying persons, or visitors.

 


 

14. Respect for the Environment and Neighbors

The gîte is located in a rural environment.

Guests are kindly requested to respect:

  • neighbors;
  • nature and wildlife;
  • the peaceful surroundings.

Noise disturbance, particularly during evening and nighttime hours, must be avoided.

 


 

15. Complaints

Any complaints should be reported as soon as possible during the stay so that an appropriate solution may be sought.

Complaints submitted after departure may no longer be considered.

 


 

16. Privacy

Personal information collected from guests is used solely for:

  • reservation management;
  • guest communication;
  • legal obligations.

Personal data will never be sold to third parties.

 


 

17. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed exclusively by French law.

Any disputes shall fall under the jurisdiction of the competent French courts in the district where the gîte is located.
